craftsmanship

The ancient tradition of craftsmanship in Persia dates back to prehistoric times, in addition to the best known artifact which is the carpet and the kilim, it also includes arts such as chiselling, inlay, carving, blown glass, ceramics, filigree silver work, hand-printed fabrics and miniature paintings. Up to now all this has not been disclosed in Italy but it deserves to be appreciated as the accuracy and meticulousness of the workmanship, carried out entirely by hand and with natural materials, ensure that Persian craftsmanship is of high value. Our initiative consists in presenting authentic objects of high quality craftsmanship which, with a typical oriental flavor, contrasting the western furniture, at the same time enrich it. It is not easy to make a clear division between the various artistic forms of the country and what, on the other hand, can be considered real craftsmanship. Indeed, art and craftsmanship mostly overlap and there is no barrier that makes carpets, kilims, bronzes and ceramics not be considered purely artistic forms. The carpets deserve a very special mention, to which in fact it was preferred to dedicate a large exclusive paragraph, given that they represent one of the major artistic and even tourist attractions of the country, as well as having a very rich story to tell.
