If heaven on earth really exists we have found it! It is fantastic to think how a few steps from our front door (so to speak of course …) there can be such beautiful landscapes: visiting the Cinque Terre will leave you breathless with its views of the sea, the paths between the rocks and travel by train among paradisiacal panoramas! The five lands have kidnapped our heart and that of UNESCO so much that they were included among the world heritage sites in 1997 for “the harmonious interaction established between man and nature to create a landscape of exceptional quality “. We had recommended some of the UNESCO sites to visit at least once in a lifetime (small anticipation: a lot of them are in Italy!) But we decided to dedicate a separate article to the 5 terre because there are very few places like this in the world! lands are made up of the five seaside villages of Manarola, Riomaggiore, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso al Mare: all overlook the sea except Corniglia which is located on top of a cliff 100 meters above sea level. Cinque Terre are reflected in the crystalline waters of the Ligurian sea which, in turn, contrast with the harsh nature of the Cinque Terre National Park, also rich in citrus groves, olive trees and vines, and by the many paths on foot. 25 October 2011 are for the most part gone and all the villages have returned to shine with the beauty that has always characterized them!
