oday we will embark on a journey through time, discovering two cities that have shaped history: ancient Pompeii, buried by the eruption of Vesuvius, and the vibrant Naples, a kaleidoscope of cultures and traditions.

An unforgettable day Our day will be divided into two parts: in the morning, we will immerse ourselves in the unique atmosphere of Pompeii, strolling through the ruins of houses, shops, and thermal baths, and admiring the frescoes that tell us about the daily life of the ancient Romans. In the afternoon, we will reach the lively Naples, where we can admire historical monuments, taste the delicious local cuisine, and breathe the authentic atmosphere of a Mediterranean city.

A personalized itinerary To make your experience even more special, we will organize a tailor-made itinerary together, based on your interests. In Pompeii, we can visit the most famous houses, such as the House of the Vettii or the House of the Faun, or focus on specific aspects, such as religious life or commercial activities. In Naples, we can choose from a wide range of attractions, from the majestic Castel Sant’Elmo to the charming district of Spaccanapoli, passing through the Basilica of San Gennaro and the Royal Palace.

Step back in time and explore the wonders of Pompeii, one of the world’s most captivating archaeological sites. Buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, this ancient Roman city offers a glimpse into the daily lives of its inhabitants. Wander through its streets and imagine the bustling city that once stood.

    Main Attractions in Pompeii

    • Forum: The heart of Pompeii’s political, religious, and commercial life. Here you’ll find the remains of the Temple of Jupiter, the Basilica, and the Macellum (market).
    • Amphitheater: Built around 70 BC, it’s one of the oldest Roman amphitheaters in existence. It could seat around 20,000 spectators and was used for gladiatorial contests.
    • Large Theater and Small Theater (Odeon): The Large Theater was used for dramatic performances, while the smaller Odeon was reserved for musical performances and public meetings.
    • Villa of the Mysteries: One of Pompeii’s most famous and well-preserved villas, renowned for its frescoes depicting mysterious rituals.
    • House of the Faun: One of the largest and most luxurious houses in the city, famous for its Alexander mosaic.
    • Lupanare: An ancient brothel with explicit frescoes and small cubicula, offering a fascinating glimpse into the sexual life in ancient Rome.
    • House of the Vettii: Another luxurious residence, known for its magnificent mythological frescoes.
    • Stabian Baths: One of Pompeii’s oldest bath complexes, featuring areas for hot, warm, and cold baths.
    • Garden of the Fugitives: A garden where plaster casts of some of the eruption’s victims were found, captured in the moment of their escape.
    • Temple of Apollo: One of Pompeii’s oldest temples, dedicated to the god Apollo.
    • Large Palaestra: A vast outdoor area used for physical training, located near the Amphitheater.
    • Necropolis of Porta Nocera: A burial ground located outside the city walls, with monumental tombs.

    Pompeii

The “Pompeian red”: This characteristic color, present in many frescoes, was not a simple red. It was obtained from a special paste made from mollusks, which gave it a unique and long-lasting hue.

The most famous brothel: Pompeii was a very lively city and its inhabitants loved to have fun. In this regard, the brothel of Victor and Africanus is famous, one of the best-preserved brothels of antiquity.

The bread of Pompeii: During the excavations, intact ovens were found, with the imprints of bread. This allows us to imagine what the bread consumed by the ancient Romans was like.

The earthquake of 62 AD: Pompeii was struck by a strong earthquake about 17 years before the eruption of Vesuvius. The city was under reconstruction when it was buried by the lava.

The plaster casts: One of the most exciting discoveries of the excavations was the creation of plaster casts of the victims of the eruption. These figures offer us a direct testimony of the horror of that tragedy.

    Naples

The legend of Parthenope: It is said that the siren Parthenope, rejected by Ulysses, committed suicide by throwing herself among the rocks, giving rise to the city of Naples.

The Margherita pizza: Legend has it that the Margherita pizza was created in honor of Queen Margherita of Savoy, who visited Naples in 1889.

The suspended coffee: A Neapolitan tradition that consists of paying for an extra coffee to offer it to those who cannot afford it.

The Neapolitan nativity scene: The Neapolitan nativity scene is a unique art in the world, a UNESCO heritage. Every year, during the Christmas period, artisan workshops create increasingly rich and detailed nativity scenes.

Castel Sant’Elmo: This fortress dominates the city from above and offers a breathtaking panoramic view. It is said that witches gathered here for their sabbath.
