the land of the Aryans

In the imagination of Europeans and Westerners in general, the Iranian people are scarcely distinguishable from the people of the Arab world, especially thanks to the common Islamic faith and a history that has never been adequately and sufficiently studied. This preconceived idea, however, collapses inexorably as soon as, once on Iranian soil, there is the first real contact with the people. Iran derives from Aryanam and means “LAND OF THE ARIANS”.
The Iranian people approaches the foreign visitor with an elegance and a refinement that is anything but Arab, strongly claims its Indo-European identity and gives meaning to the Sanskrit linguistic root according to which Arya means “The Nobles”. All those we meet smile at us and inspire us with some lost familiarity, reconnecting an ethnic and to say the least ancestral kinship, which dates back at least three thousand years ago, before the Indo-Europeans spread from Europe to India. From the first moment all the preconceptions and distrust that had accompanied the traveler before his departure seem to fall away and the fears do not remain even in the remotest memory. Perhaps no other country immediately surprises visitors as much as Iran and no one leaves that strange feeling so difficult to describe when the journey is over and you return home. Perhaps too often has been talked about the Iranian revolution, the zeal of its religion, of its being a danger to unfaithful Westerners. Wandering through the streets and talking to people looking into their eyes we realize that in reality the first victim of this repression is the Iranian people. We have led several trips and different countries, but when someone asks us which foreign country struck me more, let’s say … Iran. there is no doubt that the giants of the Gate of Nations in Persepolis seem to guard history … that the great rock reliefs make the mountains speak … or that the infinite gems sold to the market of Esfahan are a symbol of the mythical wealth of the East .. again, that the towers of silence of Yazd seem or pillars of the sky .. but the reality is that the most precious and secret treasure of Iran is above all its people.
