Palio is a historic competition that takes place 2 times a year and attracts thousand of tourists from all over the world. This is not just a historical commemoration or a folk festival: this is the true core of snesei, a represntation of their city and their own history through times, a very sensetive subject for each one of time.The Palio is defined by Siena’s contradas(distract)the city is in fact historically divided into 17 Districs, which correspond to exact portions of the city.only 10 out of 17 can complete in the race, 7 members by right and 3 are by extraction, happening few days before the event.Palio is hosted in the famous piazza del campo, one of the most original Italian aquares because of its architecture asymmetrical strucure , with its iconic and imposing Town hall that overlooking it, together with the Torre del Mangia also a XIV Century construction, named after his keeper Giovanni di Duccio’s nickname Mr. Mangia or Mr. Eat,konen for spending all his earnings for food.
